Hawaii!

I took fewer pictures this trip.  It felt a bit strange but I tried to enjoy it as a trip rather than event.  I took over 2000 pictures using up about 40gb, 12gb of video for over an hour of video in HD.  In this post I will post the food and a few pictures I will slip in.

Subway breakfast

Reclined seats cause claustrophobia.  Note the amount of light reflecting from wing that does get annoying.

Spinach, pasta, and two mushrooms. With free white wine

After we landed the first question was what do you want to eat?  My answer - Tylenol.
Note for the future travel with Tylenol and half benadryl pills in carry on backpack.

As a photography hobbyist it is fun and easy to observe and judge. That tripod?  Probably a $1000 carbon fiber Gitzo.  Lens red ring... $1000.  Body $2000.  Vest to prove serious business.  But his position sucks balls.

I didn't take this picture.  I spent so much time battling my camera this time.  "Battling" as in someone here forgot how to use it.  Someone here forgot the rules. Someone here is rusty.

I feel Don Duixote is one of those things that should be here in Socal.

"Melon Dream" Icee dunno if that was an exclusive flavor

Zippy's http://www.yelp.com/biz/zippys-makiki-honolulu (I am guessing the location)
You should guess which one is mine.

I really enjoyed the non-filled mochi.. I had them as breakfast snacks for several days

American style breakfast

The hike was a bit harder.  The views were awesome.  I bruised my shin. But it was still worth it.  A lot of my shots were ruined by my settings.  That's one of the hard parts of using a DSLR... easy to get shots and even easier to ruin them.

Helena's because Man V Food
Menu option B
Pipikaula short rib - good but I wonder if this is what we had last time
Kalua Pig - think carnita
poi - very um.. ethnic
coconut jello - on the right with onions next to it.  Why onion around it iono

This shot... I set the timer put camera on the floor and walked away you can kinda see the stars

It was weird to know some of the places in the area.  These two were freaking huge bowls of korean soups.  I thought it was individual size

Here we learned he does not like corned beef.

Her dad saw my legs with the 5 swollen bites and gave me this.  I don't know how well it works but on a psychological level it helps to apply SOMETHING to the swollen bites.  Cortizone 10 didn't seem to help me at all.

This is their freaking mall

I was left to fend for myself for a few hours *much despair*

Wandered the mall. Bought a boba, bought some tuna poke, went to a park next to the beach and snacked.
See I was totally lost.

=P I heard the mumblings why would I get this at a Japanese restaurant?  Because it is the exact thing I wanted to eat.  Can you imagine eating more raw fish after consuming 1/2lb poke a few hours earlier? To be honest... I have been a bit fearful of eating after the whole buffet and food poisoning incident.

Beach front McDonalds

Best breakfast within walking distance of the hotel

This is the day we had a plan.
To be useful tourists, to be less of a burden.
We figured out how to use the bus and created a path.
Don Quixote, tux shop, boba.
Just didn't factor for 26 lb groceries, long line at tux shop and three tuxedos to pick up.

This will forever be a mystery fish.  The skin was tougher than anything imaginable.  The flesh was dense like lobster.  But it isn't a monk fish.

I felt like... the whole hak hei deal was over rated when I saw the way some people were eating

I think it was a pretty fancy dinner.  I had a glass of alcohol, probably cogniac and a huge glass of red wine.

I wasn't trying to troll him.. corned beef did seem like the best choice and besides, it's March!

After I walked the buffet line once... I decided I probably under gifted.
After the second time I was sure.
Third time I thought I should hit the desserts.
I was sad I didn't actually get to eat the desserts.
If I had to fend for myself for a day, I would have walked out to here for food

I have more pictures but in most ways there is nothing to take pictures of...
All you can really do is look at the destruction and remains.

Avocado Poke Bowl.
I wasn't sure about getting a bowl I mean hot rice with cold poke on top... but everyone else was doing it and this turned out to be good.

A lot of times I don't mind going to the same spots

leonards malasadas.. these things were fresh and hot.  They tasted awesome.  Definitely not like a doughnut

Hawaiian Airlines Breakfast
Cookies, cheese, guava drink, fruit, and a hot cup of tea

Rum punch and chips

I know, it isn't the best picture of my flower... in fact it sat on the counter the day after the wedding.  It has seen better days and I was sad I couldn't take it home... I pulled the magnet and kept that.  But it doesn't matter I got to observe and participate.  Other people got to take the pictures and I didn't need to think about the settings, memory, or the post processing.  I just had to remember the few things I was assigned to do.. and I might or might not have done them well but no one will remember unless there was video.
