Normal pastimes

What are normal pastimes?
I had to look it up to make sure it was the correct word because it certainly didn't look right.  But hey it's used in an example like baseball is a national pastime and I laugh because who watches baseball?

Anyways I'm on this current mindless thought because I'm beginning to wonder how people spend their time.

Most people would know I like to spend my time on the vast interwebs.  I know a lot of other people do that too since there is something for everyone.

When people ask what I like to do after work I usually tell them I go online.  It sounds funny because I'm on the computer all day at work why would I spend another minute on a computer at home? I have access to the internet while I'm at work and a different kind of access when I use my phone and a completely different kind of access while I'm at home.

I know some people who like spending this time chatting, on youtube, or other entertaining sites but in the end it all boils down to "online".

Besides online I know some people like to play games.  Games on the computer, games on the console (very rare), games with my mind (jk), and even board games.  Actually I think I may know more board gamers than console gamers.  Board games are unique for its ability to make a social situaiton happen.  As my friend tells me, people focus on the games and not each other.  There is a common focus, goal, and nothing is awkward as a result. I admit its true even with the most unique group of people that I normally might feel awkward around. Only exception to the rule are games that require one person to become the center of attention and say... read a card out loud.

I know a lot of people exercise.  I wish my joints and level of energy could match those people!  Although that sounds so normal I can think of many examples where we would just conclude it to be a weird and extreme thing.  The type where we would just look and think no this guy is too extreme stay away.

Some socialize though eating, drinking, or whatever.

I guess there is tons to potentially do, hard to say if it's a waste for me to spend much of it online.  I wonder if I could/should reallocate some of my time to other things.  Maybe a few hours every week without a computer on.  I can't use my parents as examples because they spend most of the evenings after dinner in front of a computer or tablet while watching tv which is pretty much what I do. The only exception is they would sometimes stop and use that time when they aren't being lazy to complain.
